Theology & Mythology
Feb. 2nd, 2016 22:32I kinda need to work some more on this to have a more steady ground to work from.
From the beginning there was nothing but darkness and a small but bright light. This was the essence of the Shrine and from it the first god, the Creator was brought forth. He fought back against the darkness but he was weak still. With the power of the Shrine he was able to create the universe with a big bang. He then spent eons shaping galaxies, suns and planets. For the most part he simply let the natural evolution proceed, occasionally guiding and manipulating it. Eventually he chose a planet to keep the Shrine. This planet was Atheros. As time passed on the Creator had grown in power and so had the Shrine. It went from a spark in the void to a more tangible object. It needed a place to rest so he created a sanctum for it and built a golem to guard it. This sacred planet also became the home of humans.
As time passed on and intelligence grew among certain beings, like humans, they sought answers and thus different faiths took form. These were different aspects they perceived in nature and of divinity. From this faith deities were born. The Creator allowed it as it took a burden off his shoulders. He preferred to create and observe. He wasn't looking for followers. However he enjoyed to wove the threads of fate for his children.
However as this deities was born out of faith, they feared being forgotten more than anything. This lead to them expanding, protecting and guiding their followers. The Creator limited what they were allowed to do, fearing the chaos which may follow.
All was well for awhile. However as humans in particular got more greedy for power they sought out other ways to find power. Which lead to a band finding the sanctum, killing the golem guarding it and using the power of the Shrine to become gods. It was troublesome and the Shrine was no longer safe. Not willing to limit free will the Creator created a brotherhood of people whose faith in him was the strongest. He taught them the ways of light and gave them the objective to guard the Shrine. As further safety he took the crystal heart of the golem, infused it with energy and the Breath of Life. From then forth it would be know as the figurine, an extra precaution to the Shrine. He also awoke a Spirit inside of the Shrine. Its task would be to destroy anyone who tried to use the Shrine's power for evil. Then he took the Figurine and hid it elsewhere. He was content that he know had limited the abuse of the Shrine properly.
He could now focus elsewhere.
There's evil in this world. Evil beings, evil gods. With several other gods overseeing the world there's always hope. However, playing with the power of the gods has great consequences.
The Creator is the first god, the architect of the world. He's not particularly interested in human affairs, allowing the lower gods to deal with such. His main area is concerning the fate of the world. He keeps it running so to say. But he also oversees the great weave of fate for all beings. He knows what's going to happen and so he decides what to do about it. Few are directly guided by his hands, few are gifted with the divine light of his. He leaves most day-to-day business to the lower gods.
"Fate" can mean several things. It could be a decided destiny but also the future. Past, Present and Future exist at the same time after all. While the Past remains unchanged the Future always changes, leaving the weave in a constant state of flux.

First impressions
Nov. 27th, 2015 16:19![]() ☄ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Jeremy is 6'2 et tall and got hazel eyes with a slight tone of gold in a thin line around his pupils. He's well-built the result of military training. He's blonde and clean-shaved. He got one tattoo in the shape of three stars in a c:a 45 degree angle, which gradually gets bigger, just above his waist on his left side. ♚ FASHION: He dresses casually. He enjoys leather jackets, tight-fitting t-shirts, jeans. Often earthy colours like brown or green. He's not much for formal clothes unless the situation demands it. Then he prefers less the better or uniform. Like a west and some blue or greyish shirt with fitting tie. ♚ DEMEANOUR: Occasionally cheeky but has always the best in mind. Strong moral compass although sometimes he does bend the rules a little for the greater good. He has still not quite let go of that part of him. Focused and strong and functions well under pressure. He's terrified of seas as he doesn't know what's really underneath the surface. He's easy going and appears somewhat unserious at times. But when it matters he's there. ♚ AURAL: He got a deep voice. He speaks calmly. His accent is difficult to place as he's from a very different world. To make things easier I have him default to English even though he speaks Varaan and Imperial Common. ♚ OLFACTORY: Earth like, musky. He tends to go for manly smells when he uses cologne. ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: His mind is highly shielded against psychics. He's trained in mental defence and with the Voice of the Creator constantly at the back of his mind, any psychic people will have a hard time gathering information. ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: He's surrounded by an aura of light. He got the energy of pure light in his blood. He can even manipulate his aura to heal others nearby. He doesn't emit that at all times. If needed he can try to hide his aura but normally he doesn't. ☄ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: I always tag back and can continue tagging until the other person stops tagging back. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: Considering that he's an original character, fourthwalling may be difficult. I'd prefer if people doesn't try to fourthwall him. ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: I'm open to all sort of physical affection. I'm pretty vanilla though and not comfortable with several kinks. Jeremy is a very easy going person and most likely he would respond well to any kind of physical affection. He wouldn't get violent. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: I'm comfortable to an extent. Bruises, broken bones are fine but severe damage which may be close to fatal do I not want. If you engage him in combat though, be warned that he's a skilled soldier with great powers at his disposal. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: I'm fine with shipping. I'm quite open minded about it. Even M/M. Jeremy is from a time where sexual taboos are long gone. Another man may give him pause as he leans more against females. But if the chemistry is good he wouldn't mind giving it a go. I would say tat he's a 2 on Kinsey's scale of sexual behaviour. ☄ Permissions ♚ FIRST THING: If your character is of an evil alignment, are you alright with Jeremy potentially harming your character? ♚ SECOND THING: Ask another thing that you’re wondering if people will be okay with. ♚ THIRD THING: Ask another thing that you’re wondering if people will be okay with. ♚ CODE: Please fill out the form below and reply to this post. Interaction permissions
Oct. 22nd, 2015 12:11Jeremy may seem like a good-natured person but you better keep in mind that he's a Templar, trained by sacred monks to protect the light. He'll not take kindly to evil aligned characters. There's a bit of lineage as his primary objective is to protect the heart of creation, the Shrine. Unless your character posses as a great threat to the universe he may leave you alone.
Please note any concerns I need to take in account when interacting with your characters here.

Basics
Name: Jeremy Kaalen Talos
Canon; Original
Age: 30s
Origin: Veraana
Species: Human
Full title: Protector of the Shrine, Guardian of the Light and Champion of the Creator.
Alignment: Neutral Good
Mun is
This character is not from Pacific Rim.
History
He grew up in the outskirts of Sofia on Veraana. He was the youngest of three brothers. His father was working in the mines while his mother was a painter. She tried many times to succeed but her efforts mostly went by unnoticed. She'd not let it get to her and kept going. Jeremy shared her ambition. He didn't want to be stuck on a backwater planet. He craved adventure. Often finding himself day dreaming his grades very hardly exceptional. When he was old enough he left for the planetary capital. He'd several odd jobs before joining a cargo ship crew. As he grew older he started seeking out other avenues such as bounty hunting and smuggling. His life came to a turn for the unexpected as he encountered a small ship from Rax, the spiritual capital of the Vayn empire. A member of the crew, whom he later was told was in fact the current Protector of the Shrine, the most holiest object in the vast universe. This man sensed that Jeremy had the potential to become a Templar and perhaps even the next Protector. Off to Rax he went to get trained with several other gifted men and women. After a years of training Jeremy inherited the title of Protector. It was now that his most important quest started.
Appearance

Charlie Hunnman in Pacific Rim
Jeremy is 6'2 ft tall and got hazel eyes with a slight tone of gold in a thin line around his pupils. He's well-built the result of military training. He's blonde and clean-shaved. He got one tattoo in the shape of three stars in a ca 45 degree angle, which gradually gets bigger, just above his waist on his left side.
He dresses casually. He enjoys leather jackets, tightfitting t-shirts, jeans. Often earthish colors like brown or green. He's not much for formal clothes unless the situation demands it. Then he prefers less the better or uniform. Like a west and some blue or greyish shirt with fitting tie.
The official uniform is lightblue with white undershirt and highlights. The holy symbol of the Creator is embodied on the left pocket with grading equal to that of a general. To this he wears lightblue pants. All buttons are gold plated.
Personality
Occasionally cheeky but has always the best in mind. Strong moral compass however sometimes he does bend the rules a little for the greater good. He has still not quite let go of that part of him. Focused and strong and functions well under pressure. He's terrified of seas as he doesn't know what's really underneath the surface. He's easy going and appears somewhat unserious at times. But when it matters he's there.
As he was a smuggler before becoming the Protector, his morals are a little shifty. He has never been outright evil however. He has respect for all creatures but have had trouble with authorities. His training and new responsibility has shifted his moral compass more in line with what's right. For the most part he seems to be Lawful Good but at times he may compromise for the greater good. Which is why I'll put his alignment as Neutral Good rather than Lawful Good.
Powers
The Protector posses powerful abilities. They're the highest ranking person within the hierarchy. Their main goal is to protect the Shrine from those whom wishes to use its power to become gods. The Shrine is ancient and has existed since the dawn of time. It contains the raw power of the Creator.
The Protector's powers comes from the Shrine and as such they are always powered by light. They can be used to heal aswell as bring destruction.
The main power the Protector possesses is the ability to communicate directly with the Creator himself. The Protector's orders comes directly from the Creator as does his powers.
Jeremy has the ability to heal injured people, inspire his followers and act like a beacon of light, which will heal allies, strengthen them and destroy darkness.
His offensive abilities includes telekinesis, holy fire and summoning swords of pure light to attack his enemies.
He's proficient with swords aswell as guns. He can wear an array of armour. He's strong from righteous training and got tactical knowledge aswell as historical.
He's mortal and will bleed like any other mortal does. However considering he's chosen by a god, death is unlikely.
Other
Jeremy is a Templar, trained in combat by experienced battle masters. Diplomacy and spiritual guidance is not his forte, however it doesn't stop him from trying. He's equal to the high priest/ess of the Creator. As a tactician and warrior he's used in combat to protect the empire. The inner circle of the church has long since abandoned the idea of simple isolation. However the actual position of the Shrine and its companion the Figurine is kept as close guarded secrets. Nobody but the most trusted are allowed to see the Shrine.
The Shrine itself isn't completely defenceless. It got a guardian which kills or helps people whom seek the Shrine. However the spirit's reach is very limited, hence the need of secrecy and defence.
The Shrine may be corrupted, as it has before, however that'll slowly kill the entire universe. It can be purified by the Protector if needed.
